Best Bubble alternatives
Bubble is a visual no-code platform for building and hosting web apps, with native iOS/Android building in public beta since June 2025, used by founders and agencies who want full app logic without writing code.
Free (50K workload units/mo); billed yearly, Starter is $32/mo (175K WU), Growth $119/mo (250K WU) and Team $349/mo (500K WU); Enterprise is custom, and paid plans can pay for extra workload as they go. Source
Quick Answer: Bubble alternatives
If you like building visually but want to own your code, WeWeb (web) and FlutterFlow (mobile) both export code on paid plans. If you would rather describe the app than build workflows, Lovable or Replit give you a real codebase. For internal tools and client portals with predictable bills, Softr is simpler.
Why people leave Bubble
Workload-unit costs are hard to predict and grow with usage.
One user paying under $30/mo said his app used about 700K WU a month (400K after optimizing), mostly from about 600 newsletter and notification emails, and that the new plans would 'destroy' him. forum.bubble.io
Builders ask whether to move to code once the bill grows.
An October 2026 forum thread titled 'Workload costs are killing me, should I move to code?' lists heavy background jobs and investor worries about the app staying on Bubble as reasons to leave. forum.bubble.io
You cannot export the app as code.
Bubble's manual says apps only run on Bubble and that moving off the platform means rebuilding the application logic; you can export your data as CSV. manual.bubble.io
AI coding tools now build faster for some teams.
A June 2025 r/nocode post from a team leaving Bubble after 1.5 years building an MVP cites AI development tools as the reason to move. redlib.ssps.io
6 alternatives, and who each one suits
Listed by use case, not by who pays us. Prices from each tool's official pricing page.
- Best for
- Bubble users who want to keep building visually but own the result. WeWeb's Essential plan and above can export the code and self-host it with no WeWeb hosting fee.
- Fixes
- No code export; hosting cost tied to usage.
- Skip it if
- You want one tool that also handles the database and backend, since WeWeb is mainly the frontend and you connect a backend such as Xano or Supabase.
- Best for
- People whose main target is a native mobile app. FlutterFlow is a visual builder that lets you download the Flutter code and APKs on paid plans.
- Fixes
- No code export; adds mature native mobile output.
- Skip it if
- Your app is mainly a web app with complex backend workflows, which FlutterFlow leaves to Firebase or Supabase.
- Best for
- Founders who want to describe the app in plain language and get a real React codebase in GitHub, instead of wiring workflows by hand.
- Fixes
- No code export; slow hand-built workflows.
- Skip it if
- You need predictable costs during heavy iteration, because Lovable charges credits per AI action.
- Best for
- Teams that want an AI agent and a full coding environment in one place, with hosting included and the code open to edit.
- Fixes
- No code export; workload-based pricing replaced by a plan-based one.
- Skip it if
- Nobody on the team will ever read code, since debugging on Replit eventually means looking at it.
- Best for
- Founders or developers rebuilding a Bubble app as real code. A coding agent can work through the rebuild in your own repository, and you pick the host and database.
- Fixes
- No code export; usage-based hosting bills (you choose the host).
- Skip it if
- You want a visual editor and managed hosting rather than a terminal and a codebase.
- Best for
- Bubble users whose app is really an internal tool or client portal. Softr is simpler to build with and charges a flat plan price with set limits.
- Fixes
- Unpredictable workload bills; steep learning curve for simple apps.
- Skip it if
- You run a consumer app with thousands of users, because every Softr plan caps app users.

Checked 7 November 2026. Checked 2026-11-07. Bubble's pricing page shows yearly-billed prices only; monthly-billing prices and the per-unit workload overage rate are not printed, so they are omitted. The page has Web / Mobile / Web & Mobile toggles but showed one set of prices, so I could not confirm whether mobile plans cost more. WeWeb shows only yearly-billed prices. The r/nocode source is a Redlib mirror of the Reddit thread, because reddit.com did not load directly. Lovable Pro $25, Claude Pro $20 / Max $100 and Softr prices come from the caller's verified list for 2026-11-07; Lovable's page did not render prices for me.
